Privacy Policy for Cam2PDF
This Privacy Policy explains how Cam2PDF: Document Scanner ("Cam2PDF", "the app") published by Ardtist Studio ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the app.
Cam2PDF scans paper documents, receipts, ID cards, tables and business cards into PDFs, extracts text with OCR, translates and reads text aloud, and lets you sign, merge, compress and protect PDFs. The app works without an account.
1. Your Documents Stay on Your Device
Scans, PDFs, extracted text, receipts, expense reports, exported Excel/CSV files and your saved signature are stored only on your device. We do not upload them to our servers and we do not have access to them.
- Text recognition (OCR), translation and text-to-speech run on your device.
- Receipt details (date, shop, total, category) are read from the scan on your device.
- Documents in the Secure Vault are protected by your fingerprint, face or screen lock. Biometric data is handled by Android; the app never receives it.
- PDF passwords you set are used only to encrypt the file and are not sent anywhere.
On-device language models for OCR or translation may be downloaded from Google the first time you use a language. Only the model is downloaded; your content is not sent.
2. Permissions
- Camera: to scan documents. Camera frames are processed on your device and are not recorded or uploaded.
- Photos and files: to import images or PDFs you pick and to save your files.
- Contacts: only when you choose to save a scanned business card to your contacts. The app does not read or upload your contact list.
- Biometrics / screen lock: to unlock the Secure Vault.
3. Sharing Files
When you share a file by email, a messaging app or cloud storage, it is sent through the app you choose, under that app's privacy policy. Cam2PDF does not send files anywhere unless you share them.
4. Advertising and Location
Cam2PDF shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from the IP address and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads. The app does not request precise (GPS) location.
Where required (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), you are asked for consent through Google's consent message before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice on our Ad Consent page and reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
5. Purchases
If the app offers in-app purchases or subscriptions, they are processed by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Apart from the advertising described in Section 4, we do not share data with third parties, except when required by law.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Your files remain on your device until you delete them in the app, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Files you exported or saved to shared folders stay there until you delete them.
8. Security
Network traffic used by the app (for example for ads or model downloads) is encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we use reasonable measures to protect the app and your data.
9. Children's Privacy
Cam2PDF is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR, UK GDPR or KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because your documents are stored on your device, you control them directly. For anything else, contact us.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above.
