ZenFace Privacy Policy
ZenFace ("the app") is a face-yoga wellness app published by Ardtist Studio ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app processes, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible.
1. Camera and face tracking
During practice, the app uses your front camera and on-device MediaPipe models to detect face and hand landmarks in real time. These camera frames are processed only on your device. They are not recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
2. Onboarding photo and personal plan
During onboarding you can take a face photo and enter your first name, age range, main concern and daily goal. With your explicit consent (an in-app checkbox):
- The photo is stored only on your device (app-private storage) so you can compare progress photos later.
- To build your personal plan, the photo and these answers are sent over an encrypted connection to our Google Cloud Functions backend, which asks Google's Gemini API to choose exercises. The backend does not store the photo or your answers and does not write them to logs; the result (a list of exercise IDs) is returned to your device.
- If this service is unavailable, the plan is generated entirely on your device.
You can delete the stored photos at any time via Profile → Retake Onboarding, or by uninstalling the app.
3. Practice history
Your sessions (exercise, repetitions, duration) and your plan are saved in a local database on your device. They are not uploaded. Profile → Clear Practice History deletes them.
4. Subscriptions and purchases
Purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details. The app asks Google Play whether you have an active ZenFace Premium subscription in order to unlock features.
5. Advertising (non-subscribers only)
Users without a subscription may choose to watch optional rewarded video ads (Google AdMob) to unlock extra exercises once their daily allowance is used up. Ads are never shown to Premium subscribers.
AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads. Where required (e.g. EEA, UK, Switzerland), you are asked for consent through Google's consent message before any ad is requested; you can change your choice in Profile → Ad privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
6. Analytics, crash reports and security
We use Firebase Analytics (app usage events such as "exercise completed" or "paywall viewed"), Firebase Crashlytics (crash diagnostics) and Firebase App Check (protects our backend from abuse). These services process device identifiers and technical data. They do not receive your photos or camera frames.
To make sure the free welcome week is granted once per device (and not again after reinstalling the app), the app sends our server a one-way, salted hash of your device's app-specific Android ID. We store only that hash together with the date your welcome week started, use it for nothing else, and never link it to your name, photo or other data.
7. Legal bases and retention
We process data to provide the app (contract), with your consent (photo analysis, personalised ads), and for our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, crash fixing, product improvement).
- On-device data stays until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Firebase Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months; crash reports for up to 90 days.
- The welcome-week device hash is kept for as long as the app is offered, so the free week cannot be restarted.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR, UK GDPR, KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your data-protection authority. Most data exists only on your device and can be deleted from within the app. For anything else, contact us using the developer email shown on the app's Google Play page.
9. Children
ZenFace is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Health notice
ZenFace is a wellness app, not a medical device, and does not diagnose or treat any condition.
11. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
